Dwyane Wade had 19 points, 10 assists and six rebounds Tuesday night, and the Miami Heat caught a couple of breaks in the final minutes to beat the struggling Washington Wizards 94-87. Wade, who played despite rolling his ankle in a loss at Toronto on Sunday, led six players in double figures as the Heat beat the Wizards for the second time in five days and celebrated a rare road victory.




Wade misses practice with sprained ankle
Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade sat out practice Monday to get treatment on a sprained right ankle. Wade, the NBA's second-leading scorer at 27.9 points per game, is listed as a game-time decision in Miami's matchup in Washington on Tuesday. He has played through similar slight sprains in the past. Memphis forward Rudy Gay has a staph infection and did not play Tuesday night in the Grizzlies' preseason game against the Miami Heat. The Lakers (41-17) maintained their one-game lead over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs for best record in the Western Conference, and lead Phoenix and New Orleans by two.

For one night, it all worked. Half-court alley-oop passes, 3-pointers in transition, even the occasional lucky bounce off the glass. The Miami Heat still have the worst record in the NBA. But th
