Boston Celtics' Paul Pierce, right, passes away from Cleveland Cavaliers' Wally Szczerbiak during the first quarter of an NBA basketball game on Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 in Cleveland.

For days, LeBron James insisted facing the NBA champions in January was no ordinary regular-season game. He and his teammates proved it. James scored 38 points, harassed Paul Pierce all over the floor and strengthened his case to be the league's MVP front-runner as the Cleveland Cavaliers improved to 19-0 at home by beating the staggering Boston Celtics 98-83 Friday night in a game oozing with...

James scored 26 points before sitting out the fourth quarter, and the Cleveland Cavaliers quickly took a charged-up New York crowd out of the game in a 119-101 victory Tuesday night. Delonte West added 16 points and Wally Szczerbiak had 15 for the Cavaliers, who rang up their highest...

Forward Donyell Marshall won't be making the move to Oklahoma City with the Seattle SuperSonics. The 14-year NBA veteran was waived Wednesday by the Oklahoma City franchise, which still hasn't been renamed after its relocation last month. Cleveland Cavaliers' Wally Szczerbiak (10) is fouled by Detroit Pistons' Jason Maxiell (54) in the fourth quarter in an NBA basketball game, Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in Cleveland. The Pistons won 84-74.

Chauncey Billups looked up from his chair in Detroit's crowded locker room and addressed the days ahead. "The real season," he said, "is about to start." Playoff time. For the Pistons, that's all that matters. With its reserves playing most of the minutes, Detroit closed the regular-season Wednesday night with an 84-74 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that beat the Pistons four straight...

LeBron gives his approval on Cavs' trade
LeBron James danced in his seat. Guess he likes the trades. James, who had been hoping the Cavaliers would pull the trigger on a deal prior to Thursday's trading deadline, gave his stamp of approval to the club's acquisition of Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith and Delonte West - four players the Cavs feel can get them an NBA title. "I'm excited," he said. Jason Kidd may have been James' No. 1 choice, but he wasn't complaining about Cleveland's new quartet.
