Clippers hire John Lucas as assistant
Former NBA coach and player John Lucas is joining the Los Angeles Clippers as an assistant. The team said Friday that Lucas will join Tony Brown, Kim Hughes and Fred Vinson on coach and general manager Mike Dunleavy's staff. Lucas was head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2001-03, where he coached current Clippers Ricky Davis and Brian Skinner. Before that, Lucas was an assistant with the Denver Nuggets for three seasons.

Amare Stoudemire scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 30 minutes, and the Phoenix Suns beat the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth time in a row with a 132-111 rout on Tuesday night. Raja Bell added 20 points, including 18 in the third quarter, for the Suns. Gordan Giricek scored 18, his best output since coming to Phoenix on March 4, as did Leandro Barbosa, and Grant Hill had 17.




Krystkowiak misses game to be with wife (AP)
Milwaukee Bucks coach Larry Krystkowiak will miss Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Raptors after his wife, Jan, went into labor with twins a few hours before the opening tip. Bucks assistant Tony Brown said he was buying groceries around 3 p.m. Tuesday when he got a text message from Krystkowiak asking him to take over.
