LOS ANGELES (AP) Tim Duncan scored 21 points, Tony Parker added 17 and the San Antonio Spurs rallied in the final minutes to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 102-99 on Sunday night, closing out the series 4-0 and advancing to the Western Conference finals.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Down 2-0 against the San Antonio Spurs, the Los Angeles Clippers face the tough task of needing two victories at home to keep pace with the NBA's hottest team. Making things worse are injuries to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin that have robbed the superstars of their effectiveness.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich decided this week that DeJuan Blair would start in the season opener. On Thursday night, the 21-year-old big man showed exactly why. Blair scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter and also had eight rebounds in San Antonio's 111-103 preseason victory over the Yao Ming-less Houston Rockets.

Tim Duncan isn't surprised by the problems San Antonio has had on the road this season. The Spurs' 11-time All-Star just decided to do something about it. Duncan had 27 points and 15 rebounds, and San Antonio won for just the third time away from home this season, beating the Golden State Warriors 103-91 on Wednesday night.

San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich is rationing Tim Duncan's minutes on a regular basis so that he'll be fresh for the postseason. The solid play of the Spurs' backups has made that possible. A good example was Sunday night, when Duncan sat out the fourth quarter and the Spurs pulled away to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 115-90.

Manu Ginobili scored 22 points and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Charlotte Bobcats 104-85 Friday night. Tim Duncan and Richard Jefferson added 17 apiece and the Spurs dropped the Bobcats to 1-9 on the road. Charlotte won't get any breaks Saturday night against the Mavericks, a team the Bobcats have never beaten.

Tim Duncan scored 22 points and the San Antonio Spurs won their fifth straight with a 97-89 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night. Tony Parker added 16 points and the Spurs extended their longest winning streak since last December, when they climbed back up the standings after a similar slow start last season.

Tony Parker scored 17 points and the San Antonio Spurs stopped a three-game losing streak with a 106-84 victory over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night. Parker played for only the second time in six games, bothered by a bad ankle during what has been one of the worst starts for San Antonio in the Tim Duncan era.

So much for the revamped San Antonio Spurs so far. For the first time in the Tim Duncan era, the Spurs have a losing record at the 10-game mark following three straight losses and injuries to Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili (MAN'-oo jih-NOH'-blee). The Spurs fell to 4-6 after losing at home Thursday night to Utah, which won in San Antonio for the first time in 10 years.

Tony Parker knows a 26-point first-half lead is no sure thing -- even against the team with the worst record in the NBA. Parker scored 22 points, and Tim Duncan had 20 points and 12 rebounds to help San Antonio win its seventh straight game, 109-104 over Oklahoma City on Sunday night. Sometimes Manu Ginobili enjoys the thought of coming off the bench. It looks as if Wednesday was one of those nights. Ginobili scored 27 points in a return to his sixth-man role to help the San Antonio Spurs beat Atlanta 95-89 for their fourth straight victory. The new-look Duncan scored 20 points in 21 minutes and the suddenly high-scoring San Antonio Spurs beat Golden State 123-88 on Saturday night, the Warriors' ninth straight loss. Roger Mason was supposed to be a complementary piece when the San Antonio Spurs signed him as a free agent during the offseason. But Mason was the one drawing the compliments Friday night. Mason scored 29 points and the Spurs made 15 of 25 3-pointers to beat the Utah Jazz 119-94. "I wasn't going to go too crazy, but it was one of those nights," Mason said.

Coach Gregg Popovich has signed a contract extension with the San Antonio Spurs. Tim Duncan most likely will miss no more than a few games after injuring his ankle and knee. The San Antonio Spurs star was hurt against Portland on Sunday, and the team said his MRI came back negative Monday. He has a sprained right ankle and will miss Wednesday's game against Dallas, Spurs spokesman Tom James said. The injury will be reassessed this week, and Duncan probably will return in the next few games. "It's not a big deal at all," James said.
