A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that the Detroit Pistons will re-sign Tayshaun Prince and Jonas Jerebko. The person spoke Thursday on the condition of anonymity because the deals have not been announced. Prince is expected to sign a four year, $27-million dollar contract and Friday.

Forget the NBA record, the Cavaliers are officially as bad as any team in any pro sport. Cleveland's losing streak reached 26, matching the 1976-77 Tampa Bay Buccaneers' record for consecutive incompetence on Wednesday night with a 103-94 loss to the Detroit Pistons, who were supposedly a beatable opponent for the bottom-dwelling Cavs.

The team said Saturday that the injury was confirmed following an MRI exam and evaluation by team doctors this week. The Pistons say Prince will continue to receive treatment for the injury. Tayshaun Prince scored 23 points and made all but one shot from the field, and Detroit played with a purpose and dominated the second half to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 93-84 on Sunday night, tying the best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series at 2-2.

Tayshaun Prince scored 13 points and Chauncey Billups added 12 to help the Detroit Pistons beat the undermanned Miami Heat 103-86 in the exhibition opener Monday night.
