Nets beat Heat in NBA Europe exhibition (AP)

Devin Harris scored 21 points to lead the New Jersey Nets to a 100-98 overtime victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday night in an exhibition game. Michael Beasley, the second overall draft pick in June, had 21 points for the Heat, but missed a chance to force a second overtime when the second of his two free throws rattled out in the closing seconds.

Pistons win, close on No. 2 spot in East (AP)

In recent years, the Detroit Pistons have gone into April worrying about their depth. This season, it doesn't seem to be a problem. A game after winning while resting three starters, the Pistons didn't need much from the top five in an easy 106-87 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Friday night. Richard Hamilton sat out with a sore hip and had plenty of company on the Detroit bench.

The 6-foot-10 Swift is expected to add athleticism to the frontcourt of the Nets, who have lost 10 of their last 12 games. Swift averaged 6.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in seven seasons with Memphis and one with the Houston Rockets.

Collins expected to be shipped to Memphis
With a trade to Memphis possibly near completion, center Jason Collins started what could be his final game with the New Jersey Nets on Saturday night. Collins, who has spent all of his six-year NBA career with New Jersey, will reportedly be dealt to the Grizzlies by Monday for forward Stromile Swift. "He's meant so much to this franchise," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said. "And I don't want to write him off because, again, there are a lot of different things that could happen.

Swift started serving the suspension Tuesday by sitting out practice as punishment for apparently disagreeing with Grizzlies coach Marc Iavaroni during Monday night's 103-84 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Lakers continue surge, down Grizzlies (AP)

Derek Fisher scored 26 points and Kobe Bryant added 25 to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 117-101 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. It was the 13th win in 16 games for the Lakers, who have won six of their last eight road games. The Grizzlies, who never led in the game, were paced by Mike Miller with 19 points.

Yao leads McGrady-less Rockets to win (AP)

Even without Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets were able to easily take care of the struggling Memphis Grizzlies. For the first time this season, the Rockets won without having one of their regular starters in the lineup as Yao scored 22 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked five shots, and Luis Scola scored a caree-high 22 points in a 103-83 victory over Memphis on Friday night.

Bosh, Bargnani hurt in Raptors' win (AP)

Anthony Parker scored 19 points and Jose Calderon added 13 points and 10 assists to help the Toronto Raptors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 103-91 on Wednesday night. It was a costly victory for Toronto, which lost Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani to injury. Bosh left in the second quarter with a strained right groin and did not return.

Grizzlies snap skid, rout Sonics 125-108 (AP)

Stromile Swift scored a season-high 24 points, Mike Miller added 19 points and seven assists and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Seattle Supersonics 125-108 on Monday night. Damon Stoudamire had 16 points and seven assists and Hakim Warrick added 16 for the Grizzlies, who stopped a three-game skid. West 's 40 lift Hornets to OT win (AP)

David West scored a career-high 40 points, including the go-ahead 15-footer with 8.3 seconds left in overtime, and the New Orleans Hornets beat the Memphis Grizzlies 120-118 on Friday night. Chris Paul added 28 points and 13 assists in the victory, which ran the Hornets' record to 8-2, the best start in franchise history.

Dunleavy helps Pacers improve to 3-0 (AP)

Mike Dunleavy had 27 points and eight rebounds Saturday night to help the Indiana Pacers remain unbeaten with a 121-111 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Dunleavy connected on 11-of-17 from the field as six Pacers finished in double figures. Danny Granger added 23, while Jamal Tinsley finished with 14 points and seven assists.

Gay, Swift pace Grizzlies past Heat
Rudy Gay scored 22 points and Stromile Swift added 16 as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the short-handed Miami Heat 104-98 on Saturday night. Gay made all six shots from the field, five of them from outside the arc. Mike Miller and Juan Carlos Navarro scored 11 apiece for Memphis, though the two long-range shooters were a combined 7-of-22 from the field. Brian Chase, the rookie from Virginia Tech, led the depleted Heat with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.
