The Phoenix Suns were missing their star point guard, Steve Nash. The New Jersey Nets certainly had theirs, and he was at his best. Deron Williams had 35 points, his most since coming to New Jersey at last season's trade deadline, and 14 assists as the Nets held off the short-handed Suns 110-103 Friday night for just their third victory in 12 games this season.

Steve Nash scored 13 of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter and rookie Markieff Morris added 16 points, helping the Phoenix Suns beat the Golden State Warriors 102-91 on Monday. Jared Dudley had 15 points, and Channing Frye and Shannon Brown added 10 each for the Suns, who have won two of three overall and six straight against the Warriors.




Suns cut F Carter, re-sign F Hill (AP)
The Phoenix Suns re-signed one of their most popular players, added two solid backup guards and unloaded a large portion of a very big contract. Not a bad start to the first day of post-lockout free agency. Phoenix signed swingman Grant Hill to a one-year, $6.5 million contract on Friday and followed that by signing one-year deals with Sebastian Telfair and Shannon Brown.

Hedo Turkoglu scored 20 points to lead the Orlando Magic to a 90-85 win Sunday night over the Charlotte Bobcats.
