Rashard Lewis had 16 points and a season-high 13 rebounds Friday night, and the Washington Wizards raced out to an early 18-point lead before cruising to a 97-77 victory over the New Jersey Nets. The Wizards built a 21-3 lead in the first eight minutes and faced little resistance from the cold-shooting Nets the rest of the way in snapping a three-game skid.

The Washington Wizards limited the Charlotte Bobcats to one field goal in the third quarter and cruised to a 108-75 victory on Monday night that snapped a seven-game losing streak. Nick Young scored 21 points for the Wizards, short-handed while No. 1 pick John Wall remained injured and Rashard Lewis was unavailable after coming in a trade with Orlando for Gilbert Arenas.

Ryan Gomes made a pair of free throws with 2.9 seconds remaining to give the Minnesota Timberwolves a 102-101 victory over the playoff-bound Orlando Magic on Friday night. Eight Magic players scored in double figures, and Dwight Howard had 13 points and 12 rebounds in just 23 minutes.

Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy is convinced one of the league's most popular players is buried on his bench. "I get asked more questions about J.J. The Orlando Magic's often-criticized signing of free agent Rashard Lewis might finally be working out. Coming one night after Orlando handed the Boston Celtics their first loss of the season, the Magic's fifth-straight victory snapped the Hornets' five-game winning streak.

The Boston Celtics are beatable, after all. Dwight Howard scored 24 points, Rashard Lewis added 22 and the Orlando Magic dealt the Celtics their first loss of the season, 104-102 on Sunday night. Paul Pierce missed an off-balance jumper with time running out that could have forced overtime. Pierce finished with 28 points.

Dwight Howard had 21 points, 19 rebounds and became the NBA's youngest player to reach 3,000 rebounds, leading the Orlando Magic to a 95-70 victory over the ice cold and injured New Jersey Nets on Friday night. Rashard Lewis added 27 points, and Jameer Nelson hit two big 3-pointers in a decisive third-quarter spurt that carried the Magic to a franchise record-tying sixth straight road win.

Rashard Lewis scored 22 points against his former team Tuesday night, and the Orlando Magic beat Seattle 103-76, handing the SuperSonics their league-worst eighth straight loss. The SuperSonics have not won since April 7 of last season, when Lewis was still on their side and went for 35 points against the Utah Jazz.

Rashard Lewis scored 22 points against his former team Tuesday night, and the Orlando Magic beat Seattle 103-76, handing the SuperSonics their league-worst eighth straight loss. The SuperSonics have not won since April 7 of last season, when Lewis was still on their side and went for 35 points against the Utah Jazz. It is the worst start in franchise history, surpassing an 0-6 streak in 1969-70. Two other NBA teams are winless, but Minnesota and Golden State have only played five games.
