The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed veteran guard Mike Wilks after a spate of injuries to the team's other guards. Oklahoma City General Manager Sam Presti announced Wilks' signing on Thursday. The Thunder's two backup point guards, Shaun Livingston and Kevin Ollie, are sidelined by knee injuries, and another guard, Kyle Weaver, suffered a shoulder injury Wednesday during a practice.

Hawks release Gs Dixon, Wilks (AP)
The Atlanta Hawks have trimmed their roster to 16 players by releasing guards Juan Dixon and Mike Wilks. Dixon, who has played eight years in the NBA with four teams, and Wilks, who spent last season on Orlando's roster, were with the Hawks as training camp invitees. Dixon averaged 9.0 points in three preseason games.

Daniels set to return to Wizards lineup (AP)
With Antonio Daniels set to return to their starting lineup, the Washington Wizards waived guard Mike Wilks on Monday. Wilks played in four games and averaged 1.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 11 minutes. Washington was his eighth NBA club since he started with the Atlanta Hawks during the 2002-03 season. The Wizards signed Wilks after Daniels sprained his right knee in a game Dec.

Nuggets waive veteran Wilks
The Denver Nuggets waived veteran guard Mike Wilks Wednesday. The 5-foot-10 Wilks averaged three points and 1.5 rebounds in eight games this season. Denver signed Wilks on Oct. 27 to help out at guard after Anthony Carter broke his hand and Chucky Atkins suffered a severe groin strain. Wilks strained his right hamstring Nov. 4 in the Nugget's 93-88 loss to the Hornets.

The Denver Nuggets signed veteran guard Mike Wilks on Thursday. The 5-foot-10 Wilks has played five NBA seasons with Atlanta, Minnesota, Houston, San Antonio, Cleveland and Seattle. He averaged 3.6 points and 1.7 assists in 47 games with Seattle last season. In 214 career games, he has averaged 2.5 points and 1.2 assists.
