Sixers win DiLeo's coaching debut
It had been 18 years since Tony DiLeo paced the sideline as a coach - and that came in another country. Though he couldn't revel in the circumstances of his elevation to coach of the Philadelphia 76ers because of his close relationship with Maurice Cheeks, the experience didn't seem any different. So the 76ers went out and made one of the biggest splashes of the NBA offseason, signing Brand and positioning themselves to make a run in the East.

There were days in Philly when Maurice Cheeks and the 76ers were the talk of the town. Those years with Julius Erving, Bobby Jones, Moses Malone in the early 1980s saw the Sixers routinely expected to contend -- and even win -- the NBA Finals. When the Sixers finally broke through and claimed the title in 1983, Cheeks punctuated the clincher with a dunk in the final seconds.

The 76ers want coach Maurice Cheeks and guard Andre Iguodala to stick around for longer than one more season. No doubt, this will be a busy summer for team president Ed Stefanski.

Here's the Mo so many know.
