PHILADELPHIA (AP) The Philadelphia 76ers are no longer just a mere stepping stone for the Chicago Bulls on their way to tougher battles in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Thaddeus Young led seven 76ers in double figures with 18 points and Philadelphia cruised to a 107-87 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. Andre Iguodala had 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds, and Louis Williams had 13 points and five assists for the 76ers (26-28), who have won nine of their last 12 games to creep into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Elton Brand scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half and Philadelphia jumped out to a 20-point lead in the opening period and cruised to a 117-83 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. Chris Bosh had 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Jose Calderon converted a go-ahead four-point play as the Toronto Raptors held on to extend their home winning streak to eight games with a 104-93 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. Andrea Bargnani scored 16 points, and DeMar DeRozan and Sonny Weems each had 14 as the Raptors topped 100 for the 17th consecutive game.

Louis Williams is starting to gain confidence and show his potential with Philadelphia.
