Carlos Boozer scored 18 points and the Chicago Bulls won their fourth straight game while nearly holding New Orleans to a franchise low in points during a 90-67 rout Wednesday night. Never mind what everyone else was thinking, Derrick Rose insisted he didn't expect the Chicago Bulls to roll over the Indiana Pacers. They certainly didn't in Game 1. The agent for Ronnie Brewer confirmed Friday the guard has agreed to a three-year contract with the Chicago Bulls. The deal reunites Brewer with former Utah teammates Carlos Boozer and Kyle Korver, who became Bulls earlier this month. The short-handed Utah Jazz got defensive against the young Memphis Grizzlies. Mehmet Okur had a season-high 23 points, leading the Jazz to a 103-94 victory over Memphis on Saturday night. The Jazz were without guard Deron Williams, leading scorer and rebounder Carlos Boozer and key reserve Kyle Korver, but still managed to overcome the offensive loss with a strong defense effort.

With six games remaining against teams in playoff contention, the last thing the Jazz needed was a draining game against the lowly Timberwolves. 76ers cut playoff-eligible G Giricek (AP)
Guard Gordan Giricek was released by the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, allowing the veteran a chance to be eligible for the postseason if he signs with another team. Giricek barely played for the Sixers since he was acquired in the late December trade that sent Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz. He averaged only 3.1 points and 9.2 minutes in 12 games.

Carlos Boozer had 21 points and 12 rebounds to help the Utah Jazz hold off Atlanta 100-94 on Saturday night for their 14th straight home victory. Kyle Korver scored 13 points, including six free throws in the final 20.4 seconds to help clinch the win. Josh Smith, who led Atlanta with 30 points, converted a three-point play with 1:58 remaining to get the Hawks within 90-88.

Utah won its 10th straight game Wednesday night, beating the Denver Nuggets in a 118-115 overtime thriller in which Kyle Korver scored 27 points, including four free throws in the final 19 seconds. "You win games like this when you are playing well," Korver said.

Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala scored 20 points apiece to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 92-86 victory over the slumping Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. After Damon Jones' 3-pointer gave the Cavaliers a 75-74 lead with 7:57 to play, four points by Iguodala, including a 3, and baskets by Miller and Samuel Dalembert provided an 8-0 run that gave Philadelphia the lead for good.

The short-handed Sacramento Kings finally got their elusive, long-awaited road win by going back to the basics: shooting, rebounding and passing. Kyle Korver will be out seven to 10 days because of a strained groin, the same injury that sidelined the Philadelphia forward during the preseason. Korver had an MRI on Thursday that showed a strained adductor. Korver, averaging 9.1 points for the 76ers, first hurt his groin in Tuesday's loss at Dallas. He played only 5 1/2 minutes in a loss Wednesday night at New Orleans before he left with a right groin injury.
