Shawn Marion blocked Caron Butler's jump shot with 1.9 seconds to play, and the Dallas Mavericks opened the second half of their season Wednesday night by avenging a loss from opening night, beating the Washington Wizards 94-93. Dallas extended its streak of victories in one-point games to nine, tied for second longest in NBA history.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, to rally the Dallas Mavericks to a 112-103 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night. Trailing by 10 after three periods, Nowitzki brought the Mavs back during a furious fourth. With a flurry of fadeaways, turnarounds and long-range jumpers, Nowitzki helped Dallas build an eight-point lead.




Nowitzki helps Mavericks defeat Kings (AP)

Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 99-91 victory over the struggling Sacramento Kings on Saturday night. The Mavericks used a 13-0 in the second quarter to take command and never trailed again in improving their record away from home to 12-5, the most road wins in the Western Conference.




O'Neal leads Suns past Mavs 128-100 (AP)

Shaquille O'Neal had 25 points and 10 rebounds and the Phoenix Suns used a third-quarter scoring deluge to bury the Dallas Mavericks 128-100 on Friday night. Jason Richardson added 21 points and Leandro Barbosa had 20 in the Suns' highest-scoring game of the season. The Suns outscored the Mavs 40-19 in the third, a Phoenix season high in scoring for a quarter, to turn the game into a rout.

Dirk Nowitzki hit a key 3-pointer with less than 30 seconds to play and finished with 23 points to help the Dallas Mavericks beat the trade-depleted Charlotte Bobcats 95-90 on Thursday night. Jason Terry had 26 points for the Mavericks, 10-0 against the Bobcats. Emeka Okafor had a season-high 27 points and 17 rebounds, and Raymond Felton added 16 points for Charlotte.




Barea, Nowitzki lift surging Mavericks (AP)

Jose Barea scored 16 of his season-high 22 points in the decisive third quarter, and Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points to lift the Dallas Mavericks to their ninth victory in 10 games, 100-98 over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. Barea was 7-of-9 from the floor in the third, and Dallas outscored Atlanta 33-16 in the quarter to take a 15-point lead.




Mavs overcome 15-point deficit in win (AP)
Jose Barea hit the go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute, Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points and the Dallas Mavericks rallied from a 15-point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 100-98 Tuesday night. Barea capped Dallas' closing 18-4 run with a long-range jumper with 50.2 seconds left that gave Dallas its only lead of the game.

Rondo picks up slack for KG-less Celtics (AP)

Point guard Rajon Rondo had a season-high 12 rebounds, following one of them with a putback layup with 42 seconds left to give the Celtics the lead, and Boston held on to beat the Dallas Mavericks 96-90 on Thursday night. Playing without Kevin Garnett for the third straight game, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen scored 26 points apiece to help the Celtics remain unbeaten against the Western Conference.




Mavs rout Spurs in preseason opener (AP)

Josh Howard scored 18 points, Dirk Nowitzki added 13 points and eight rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks beat the San Antonio Spurs 88-67 on Tuesday night in the preseason opener for both teams. Jose Barea had 13 points, 11 in the fourth quarter, and Brandon Bass had 10 points and seven rebounds for Dallas.
