Greg Monroe had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and the Detroit Pistons beat the depleted Orlando Magic 102-95 on Tuesday night. The Magic were without starters Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson and Ryan Anderson because of injuries. Ben Gordon added 18 points for the Pistons. Jason Maxiell and Tayshaun Prince had 15 each, and Jonas Jerebko contributed 13.

Jason Richardson scored 17 points and J.J. Redick added 14 to help the Orlando Magic stay alive in the playoffs with a 101-76 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. The win kept alive the Magic's hopes of becoming the ninth team in NBA history to win a playoff series after trailing 3-1. Jason Richardson bounced back from his worst game of the season to score 34 points with 10 rebounds and the Suns rebounded from their only defeat to beat the Celtics 110-103.

Smith will sit out the Nuggets' first seven games for pleading guilty to reckless driving in New Jersey. Richardson will miss two games after he pleaded guilty to drunken driving in Arizona. Both suspensions imposed Friday are without pay. The NBA said Smith's was also for his poor driving record.
