Jason Kapono and Andre Iguodala scored 20 points each and the Philadelphia 76ers closed their preseason schedule with a 118-91 victory over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night. Lou Williams added 18 while Elton Brand had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers (2-5), who open the regular season on Oct.

Andre Iguodala scored 16 points, including a late 3-pointer to give Philadelphia the lead, and the 76ers rallied past the short-handed New Jersey Nets 97-94 Friday night. Lou Williams scored 18 points and Jason Kapono had 14 for Philadelphia, which rebounded from a 31-point loss to Boston three days earlier.

Joe Johnson scored 28 points, including a key jumper with 12.5 seconds left, Mike Bibby added 23 as the Atlanta Hawks rallied to beat the Toronto Raptors 87-84 Monday despite missing two injured starters. Josh Smith, the Hawks' only healthy regular up front, had 22 points and 14 rebounds. Al Horford was out for the fifth straight game because of a bone bruise in his right knee.

Chris Bosh scored 18 points and Toronto capitalized on Vince Carter's 0-for-13 night to beat the New Jersey Nets 101-79 on Friday, the Raptors' second straight win under interim coach Jay Triano. Jason Kapono, with four 3-pointers, and Joey Graham each had 16 points. Jose Calderon scored 13 as the Raptors improved to 2-3 under Triano, who replaced Sam Mitchell on Dec.

Chris Bosh scored 27 points, Jermaine O'Neal had 11 points and 18 rebounds and the Toronto Raptors snapped a two-game losing streak with a 107-96 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday. Bosh outplays Brand as Raptors top 76ers (AP)
Chris Bosh just about single-handedly carried the Toronto Raptors into the playoffs last season. Now he has a much-improved supporting cast. Bosh had 27 points and 11 rebounds to help the Raptors beat the Philadelphia 76ers 95-84 on Wednesday night in the opener for both teams. Jermaine O'Neal added 17 and Jason Kapono had 15 for the Raptors, who finished 41-41 last season.

Dwight Howard had 21 points and 21 rebounds and the Orlando Magic advanced to second round of the playoffs for the first time in 12 years, beating the Toronto Raptors 102-92 on Monday night to close out their series in five games. It was Howard's third game with at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in the series.




Raptors close in on 6th place in East (AP)
Rasho Nesterovic scored 20 points, Chris Bosh had 15 and the Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 91-75 on Monday night. Anthony Parker had 13 and Jason Kapono scored seven of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Raptors moved one step closer to locking up the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Kevin Martin scored 32 points and had eight rebounds Sunday night to help the Sacramento Kings hold off the struggling Toronto Raptors for a 106-100 victory. Ron Artest added 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Mikki Moore scored 17 for the Kings, who have won three of four games. Allen Iverson scored 28 points despite a fractured finger, Carmelo Anthony added 22 and the Denver Nuggets won their fifth straight at home, blowing out the Toronto Raptors 137-105 on Friday night. It's the second-most points the Nuggets have scored this season. They still have the NBA high mark for the season with a 138-point performance in a win at Seattle on Feb.




Parker leads Raptors past Sonics 114-106 (AP)
Anthony Parker scored 23 points to lead six Raptors in double figures in Toronto's 114-106 win over the Seattle SuperSonics on Sunday. Rasho Nesterovic had 17 points in Toronto's fifth consecutive game without All-Star forward Chris Bosh. Andrea Bargnani added 16, Carlos Delfino scored 15, Kris Humphries added 12 and Jason Kapono chipped in with 10.

Chris Bosh had 21 points and 10 rebounds in his return to the Toronto lineup and the Raptors beat the Houston Rockets 93-80 Sunday. Kris Humphries added 16 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, for Toronto. Carlos Delfino had 12 points, Anthony Parker added 11 and Jason Kapono 10. Former Raptor Tracy McGrady had 23 for Houston, while Yao Ming scored 15 and Bonzi Wells had 12.

Desmond Mason was 10-for-10 from the field and scored 21 points as the Milwaukee Bucks cruised to a 112-85 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. Milwaukee, a team that didn't shoot 60 percent or better from the field in a game all last season, shot 60.3 percent and held Toronto star Chris Bosh to one point.




Kapono, Ford help Raptors earn win
Jason Kapono and T.J. Ford each scored 13 points, and the Toronto Raptors beat Zalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League 105-99 in an exhibition game on Wednesday night. Jose Calderon added 12 points for the Raptors, who had six players score in double figures. Ford finished with 11 assists. Jonas Maciulis had 24 points for the touring European team, while DeJuan Collins scored 16. The Raptors played their first game in Toronto after a 13-day day trip to Europe.
