Tyreke Evans had 24 points and 10 assists to lead the Sacramento Kings past the slumping Utah Jazz 106-97 on Sunday night. Rookie DeMarcus Cousins added 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals before fouling out in the game's final minute for the Kings, who ended a two-game slide. Francisco Garcia had 17 points and Marcus Thornton scored 15.

Raymond Felton scored 14 of his 17 points in the final quarter, and the Denver Nuggets won their fourth straight game with a 99-90 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. The Nuggets used a big third quarter to distance themselves from the cold-shooting Kings. The Nuggets have gone 14-4 since the trade of Carmelo Anthony on Feb.

Marcus Thornton scored 24 points and had 11 rebounds for the Sacramento Kings, who won their season-high fourth straight game by defeating the Phoenix Suns 116-113 on Tuesday night. Despite the strong possibility of the team moving to Anaheim next season, the Kings played like a team that was focused only on the present.

DeMarcus Cousins had 18 points and 14 rebounds to help the Sacramento Kings beat the Indiana Pacers 110-93 on Friday night. Samuel Dalembert had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Francisco Garcia scored 16 points and Marcus Thornton added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Kings, who have won four of their last seven.

Derrick Rose and Kyle Korver scored 18 points apiece as the Chicago Bulls routed the Sacramento Kings 132-92 on Monday night. The win gave the Bulls (50-19) their first 50-win season since 1997-98 and allowed Chicago to remain tied with Boston atop the Eastern Conference. The Celtics beat the New York Knicks on Monday.

Al Jefferson scored 27 points and Raja Bell had two crucial jumpers and a steal in overtime to help the Utah Jazz hold off the Sacramento Kings 109-102 Saturday night to stop their home losing streak at seven games. After the Jazz lost Paul Millsap to injury, Jefferson scored six points in overtime and Utah outscored the Kings 10-2 after Francisco Garcia started overtime with a 3-pointer.

DeMarcus Cousins scored 13 of his career-high 28 points in the fourth quarter to rally the struggling Sacramento Kings to a 94-89 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night. Francisco Garcia had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Omri Casspi added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings, who closed with a 19-2 run.

They provided no timeline for when he might return. Last month, Garcia fractured his right ring finger. The fifth-year player averaged 12.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 65 games, 36 starts, for Sacramento last season.

The Sacramento Kings were eager to get back on the court after a demoralizing loss to Orlando -- and boy did they get to play, all right. Almost all night. Chauncey Billups scored 24 points to help the Denver Nuggets beat Sacramento 118-85 on Saturday night, the Kings' eighth straight loss. Denver raced to a 24-8 lead, was ahead by 21 points at the half, and never allowed the cold-shooting Kings to get close in the second half. It was the fourth win in five games for the Nuggets, 7-4 on the road this season.




Kings F Garcia agrees to multiyear deal (AP)
Swingman Francisco Garcia agreed in principle to a multiyear contract extension with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. Garcia averaged 12.3 points and 2.9 rebounds last season as a key part of coach Reggie Theus' rotation, mostly as a reserve. The 6-foot-7 Dominican from the Bronx is entering his fourth pro season with Sacramento.

On the best scoring night of his eight-year NBA career, John Salmons' best move came when he gave the ball up. With New Jersey's defense collapsing on him in the closing seconds Tuesday night, Salmons drove the lane and kicked the ball out to teammate Francisco Garcia, who sank a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left that helped Sacramento beat the slumping Nets 106-101.

Francisco Garcia's timely 3-pointer saved the Sacramento Kings from what would have been quite the double whammy in their home opener.
