Deron Williams scored 29 points and Andrei Kirilenko grabbed two key rebounds late as the Utah Jazz rallied from a 19-point first-half deficit for a 102-96 win over a Los Angeles Lakers team that swept them out of the playoffs last season. Williams tied the score at 96 with 1:16 remaining on a 3-pointer, then stole the ball and passed to Raja Bell for what proved to be the game-winner.

The Utah Jazz have signed free-agent center Francisco Elson. The Jazz are adding the 7-foot, 240-pound veteran as starter Mehmet Okur recovers from a ruptured Achilles' tendon. Okur was injured in Utah's playoff opener at Denver and may not be available for training camp and the preseason. General manager Kevin O'Connor announced the deal Wednesday in a statement.

The 33-year-old Elson has 10 points and 13 rebounds this season, his seventh in the NBA. General manager John Hammond confirmed Monday that Elson had surgery on Friday.

Spurs re-up with veteran Thomas
The San Antonio Spurs re-signed Kurt Thomas on Tuesday, keeping the veteran forward after trading for him in February. The team did not disclose terms of the deal. The 6-foot-9 Thomas averaged 4.5 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Spurs in 28 games. Thomas appeared in all 17 playoff games for San Antonio, averaging 4.1 points and 4.9 rebounds. Thomas, who will begin his 14th season with his sixth team, was acquired in a deal that sent Brent Barry and Francisco Elson to Seattle.

Spurs re-sign Barry a month after trading him
The San Antonio Spurs re-signed guard Brent Barry on Monday, a month after trading him to Seattle. The SuperSonics waived Barry on Feb. 21, a day after acquiring him, Francisco Elson and a 2009 first-round draft pick from the Spurs for Kurt Thomas. Barry had to sit out 30 days before he could re-sign with San Antonio. Before the trade, Barry averaged 7.3 points in 29 games for the Spurs. He has averaged 7.3 points in 259 games since signing with the Spurs in 2004.

Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen each scored 18 points to lift the Boston Celtics to their 10th straight victory, 111-82 over the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday night. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker scored 15 points apiece, and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Sacramento Kings 96-80 Friday night to remain unbeaten. The Spurs are 3-0 for the first time since the 2000-01 season, when they finished with the best record in the league. The Kings have yet to win a game this season.

The Orlando Magic finally got to test the new inside-out combination of Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis. After a rough first quarter, coach Stan Van Gundy liked what he saw.
