A tough practice paid big dividends for the Miami Heat. Dwyane Wade scored 24 points and the Heat cruised to a 105-78 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, continuing a run of easy wins for the streaking team. Jermaine O'Neal added 20 points for Miami, which won its third straight, and Udonis Haslem had 13 while Michael Beasley added 12.

Iverson should start in second 76ers stint

The 76ers seemed ready to deliver a quick knockout in the undercard bout of a weekend chock full of Philadelphia-New York fights. Instead, it turned into a Halloween thriller. Even without Elton Brand, the Philadelphia 76ers were able to avoid becoming one of the unfortunate few to lose a game to the Washington Wizards. Lou Williams, coming off the bench to score a career high for the second straight game, had 26 points Friday night and the 76ers held on for a 109-103 victory over the hapless Wizards.

Elton Brand, who dislocated his right shoulder against Milwaukee on Wednesday night, will miss at least a month, the 76ers said Thursday.

Team officials say the Sixers' leading scorer has a fracture and tear in his right shoulder but will not need surgery. Brand was hurt Wednesday night in a 93-88 win over Milwaukee. Brand is averaging 15.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this season. There were days in Philly when Maurice Cheeks and the 76ers were the talk of the town. Clippers forward Elton Brand had the cast removed from his left leg and was fitted for a removable walking boot Tuesday, six weeks after he had surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon.
