Report: Mason close to deal with Kings
Free-agent swingman Desmond Mason met with the Sacramento Kings this week and could sign as soon as Thursday. Mason took a physical after meeting with Kings officials in Sacramento on Wednesday, a person with knowledge of the meeting told The Associated Press. The preson spoke on condition of anonymity because a deal had not been signed. Mason played only 39 games last season for Oklahoma City, missing the second half of the season with a hyperextended right knee.

Mason signs deal with Sacramento Kings
Free-agent swingman Desmond Mason signed a one-year contract with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. Mason flew to Sacramento to meet with Kings officials and take a physical on Wednesday. The Kings announced the deal after getting the results of the physical Thursday. His deal is not guaranteed and will pay him the league minimum of $1.18 million.

Mason, a reserve averaging 8.4 points and 3.9 rebounds, said Monday night that he hurt the elbow in the Thunder's third game of the season against Minnesota and it flared up worse after their game Friday against the New York Knicks.

When the Indiana Pacers' playoff hopes were fading and they needed a spark, they found it from an unlikely source. Reserve point guard Travis Diener scored 15 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, and the Pacers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 105-97 Sunday night. Diener, who averages seven points per game, made five of six 3-pointers in the final period.

Tayshaun Prince scored 20 points and the Detroit Pistons put away the Milwaukee Bucks early in a 117-91 victory on Saturday night. Chauncey Billups added 18 points and nine assists, Rasheed Wallace had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and reserve Jason Maxiell scored 13 points. Bobby Simmons and Charlie Villanueva led the Bucks with 13 points, but they all came with the game already decided.

Desmond Mason was 10-for-10 from the field and scored 21 points as the Milwaukee Bucks cruised to a 112-85 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. Milwaukee, a team that didn't shoot 60 percent or better from the field in a game all last season, shot 60.3 percent and held Toronto star Chris Bosh to one point.

Allen Iverson scored 22 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 104-78 exhibition victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night at Green Bay's Resch Center.
