Robinson inducted into Hall of Fame (AP)
David Robinson, who won two NBA championships and a pair of Olympic gold medals, has been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. Teammate Tim Duncan and Spurs coach Gregg Popovich were among the audience to see Robinson, still a popular figure in San Antonio because of his work in the community.

Long before Tim Duncan, the four NBA championships in nine years and Tony & Eva, there was David Robinson. When he first swung by the San Antonio Spurs locker room to say hello, all he got were scowls. "Most people felt like, 'Who is this guy who thinks he's going to save our team?"' Robinson recalled.

Jordan tabs surprise presenter for Hall of Fame
Michael Jordan has chosen David Thompson, another high flyer from North Carolina, to present him, while Charles Barkley and Isiah Thomas also will be presenters at the Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony. Jordan highlights a class that includes David Robinson, John Stockton, and coaches Jerry Sloan of the Utah Jazz and C. Vivian Stringer of Rutgers. Each was asked to select a previous inductee to serve as a presenter at Friday's ceremony at Springfield, Mass.

Spurs to retire Avery Johnson’s number
