The Milwaukee Bucks barely could make a shot. They made sure the Indiana Pacers sank even fewer. The Bucks held the Pacers to 30 points in the second half of a 94-90 win on Friday night. The Pacers made just 10 of 34 shots in the last two quarters after draining 11 of 18 in the second. "We got a lot more active," said John Salmons, who led the Bucks with 22 points.

Granger's 30 carry Pacers past Wolves (AP)

Danny Granger scored 30 points and the Indiana Pacers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 98-86 in an NBA preseason game Wednesday night. Granger scored 17 of his points in the second half for Indiana, which won its first game of the preseason. Minnesota had been unbeaten in three preseason games. The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to terms with center Darko Milicic on a four-year deal. Milicic's agent, Marc Cornstein, says the two sides reached agreement on Thursday, just over 12 hours after the free agent market opened. Timberwolves re-sign F Cardinal (AP)
The Minnesota Timberwolves have brought back veteran forward Brian Cardinal. Cardinal signed with the Wolves on Tuesday. He was traded to New York last month for center Darko Milicic (MILL'-uh-chich), but the Knicks waived Cardinal after the deal to make him a free agent. The 6-foot-8 Cardinal played in 27 games for Minnesota before the trade.

Wizards win, hold Memphis to 9 in 1st (AP)

Coach Eddie Jordan acted as if his team had lost after the Wizards polished off the undermanned Memphis Grizzlies. Washington rebounded from its worst defeat in more than six years to beat Memphis 104-93 on Friday night, and still Jordan wasn't satisfied. The Wizards raced to a 30-9 lead after one quarter, and then played sloppily for much of the game.

Andrei Kirilenko seemed to be everywhere on the court. The long-armed Russian had four steals, a blocked shot and numerous other tipped passes and deflections on defense. Kirilenko also tallied 15 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists to fall just shy of his third career triple-double to spark the Utah Jazz over the sloppy Grizzlies 118-94 Saturday night.
