The Los Angeles Clippers and free agent Craig Smith have reached a deal for the power forward to return to the team. Smith averaged 7.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 16.4 minutes in 75 games last season, when he shot 57 percent from the floor. He was originally acquired by the Clippers last July along with Sebastian Telfair and Mark Madsen from Minnesota in exchange for Quentin Richardson.

Los Angeles had six players in double figures and snapped an eight-game road losing streak, and a three-game skid in Washington, as the Clippers won for the third time in eight games.

Antawn Jamison led the way with 22 points and 13 rebounds, Caron Butler added 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Washington overcame a career-high 36 points from Craig Smith to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 102-88.

If they continue to share the scoring load like this, the New Orleans Hornets will be one of the NBA's toughest teams to beat this year. Jeff Foster had 12 points and 20 rebounds for the Pacers (4-1), while Marquis Daniels and Jamaal Tinsley both added 18 points and Travis Diener had 16.
