Gasol's late surge lifts Grizzlies (AP)

Marc Gasol scored eight of his 25 points in the final two minutes as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Detroit Pistons 99-93 Wednesday night. Gasol added 12 rebounds while Zach Randolph had 24 points and 13 rebounds for Memphis, which won its third straight. All five Grizzlies starters scored at least 14 points.

Pistons top Knicks, win third straight (AP)

Rodney Stuckey scored 20 points, Charlie Villanueva added 19, and the Detroit Pistons won their third straight game, beating the New York Knicks 94-90 on Saturday night. Detroit snapped a 13-game losing streak Tuesday with a win in Washington, then needed overtime to beat the Hornets on Friday. Against New York, the Pistons nearly blew a 21-point, second-half lead before holding on.

Pistons hand 76ers 11th straight loss (AP)

Rodney Stuckey scored 27 points and hit the winner with 8.7 seconds left to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 90-86 win over Philadelphia on Wednesday night, the 76ers' 11th straight loss. Allen Iverson scored 11 points in his second game with the Sixers. He hit the tying jumper with 1:06 left that made it 86-all.

Pistons' Hamilton out 2 games with sprained ankle
Detroit Pistons guard Richard Hamilton will miss at least two games because of a sprained right ankle. Pistons coach John Kuester says Ben Gordon will start in Hamilton's spot Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chucky Atkins was activated to add depth. Hamilton also will not play Saturday night at Milwaukee. He was injured late in Wednesday night's season-opening win at Memphis. Postgame X-rays on the ankle were negative.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have picked up another point guard in a swap of veteran backups that will send Etan Thomas to Oklahoma City. Along with Thomas, Minnesota is sending two of its four second-round picks in the 2010 draft to Oklahoma City in exchange for guards Damien Wilkins and Chucky Atkins. Atkins felt pain two weeks ago while playing pickup games, and an MRI on Monday revealed an operation was necessary. Atkins, who signed a two-free free agent contract with Denver last summer, has averaged 4.0 points in nine games for the Nuggets this season. He missed the first 24 games with a severely strained right groin he suffered in a preseason game at Phoenix on Oct. 25.
