Heat lose, clinch worst record in NBA (AP)

Miami Heat guard Ricky Davis, right, looks for an opening past Memphis Grizzlies guard Casey Jacobsen during the first quarter of a basketball game Friday, April 11, 2008, in Miami.

Hakim Warrick and Kyle Lowry each scored 17 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies beat Miami 96-91 Friday night to ensure that the Heat will finish with the league's worst record. With the NBA's worst record (14-65), the Heat will have the best chance to win the draft lottery held on May 20. Mike Conley and Juan Carlos Navarro scored 15 points apiece as the Grizzlies shot 42 percent from the floor...

Surging Pistons rip Grizzlies 92-67 (AP)

Detroit Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince, right, drives to the basket against Memphis Grizzlies guard Casey Jacobsen in the second half of an NBAbasketball game Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in Auburn Hills, Mich. Prince led the Pistons with 16 points in a 94-67 win.

Arron Afflalo had the best night of his short NBA career on Friday. He paid for it after the game. The Detroit Pistons rookie had a career-best 12 points in a 94-67 win over Memphis, then had to deal with heckling teammates as the media gathered around his locker. "Can we wait until he leaves?" asked an embarrassed Afflalo, as Rasheed Wallace screamed teasing insults.

Smith leads Hawks over Grizzlies 86-78 (AP)

Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson (2) takes a shot against Memphis Grizzlies guard Casey Jacobsen, center, as Grizzlies guard Kyle Lowry (1) defends, during the fourth quarter of a NBA basketball game, Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 at Philips Arena in Atlanta. The Hawks won 86-78.

Mike Woodson was appalled at how poorly the Atlanta Hawks played in the third quarter of their previous game. So, the coach of the NBA's youngest team tinkered with his halftime routine. Less time sitting, more time moving. "We got them out of the locker room a little bit earlier than we have in the past," Woodson said.

Boozer leads Jazz to third straight win
Carlos Boozer scored 31 points and Deron Williams had 20 points and 13 assists to lead the Utah Jazz over the sloppy Memphis Grizzlies 118-94 Saturday night. Andrei Kirilenko had 15 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists to fall just shy of his third career triple-double as the Jazz won their third game in a row. Down by 25, the Grizzlies used a small lineup sparked by Michael Conley's slashing drives to make it 100-87 on Casey Jacobsen's 3-pointer with 5:39 remaining.
