The Chicago Bulls have re-signed veteran forward Brian Scalabrine. The 6-foot-9 Scalabrine played in 18 games for Chicago last season and averaged 1.1 points. He is a 10-year NBA veteran and has averaged 3.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 492 regular-season games. He's also participated in 39 playoff games.

Scalabrine takes Asik's spot for Bulls in Game 5
Brian Scalabrine will take Omer Asik's place on the Chicago Bulls' roster for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Miami Heat on Thursday.

Luol Deng scored 22 points, Derrick Rose had 20 and the Chicago Bulls beat the Toronto Raptors 110-103 in exhibition play Wednesday night, snapping a two-game losing streak. Rose also had nine assists and eight rebounds. Brian Scalabrine had 14 points and James Johnson scored 13 of his 14 in the fourth quarter as the Bulls improved to 3-5 in the preseason.

The NBA has suspended Toronto's Joey Dorsey for one game for swinging his arm at Chicago Bulls forward Brian Scalabrine. NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson announced the ban on Thursday. Dorsey will serve the suspension in the first regular-season game that he is healthy for and eligible to play in.

Boston Celtics backup forward Brian Scalabrine has been cleared to play after missing two games with a separated right shoulder. Coach Doc Rivers said Scalabrine showed no sign of injury during practice Tuesday. The Celtics leave Wednesday for games in Orlando on Thursday and Atlanta on Friday. In 33 games, three as a starter, Scalabrine is averaging 1.8 points and 10.3 minutes.

Boston Celtics forward Rasheed Wallace will miss Monday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks with a sore left forefoot. Wallace was replaced in the starting lineup by Brian Scalabrine. Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said a few minutes before the game that Wallace had trouble pushing off when he jumped so coach Doc Rivers decided to give him the night off.
