The somber Portland Trail Blazers found it difficult to celebrate a victory after losing Greg Oden. Portland coach Nate McMillan's experiment with a three-guard starting lineup has sparked the Trail Blazers. Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan was being cautious, saving guard Brandon Roy for when the team needed him. With two fouls, Roy sat the entire second quarter Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Then he went on to steer the Blazers to a 109-98 victory for Portland's league-leading 12th consecutive win.




Blazers push streak to 11, top Sonics (AP)

After the Portland Trail Blazers won their 11th straight game, normally stoic owner Paul Allen looked directly at a camera and jubilantly held up one finger on each hand to signify the streak. That's what winning is doing for the surprising Blazers. "We're going out there with all the confidence in the world, and a sense of urgency at the same time," forward Martell Webster said.

Brandon Roy had 25 points, nine assists and eight rebounds and the Portland Trail Blazers won their ninth straight game, beating the Toronto Raptors 101-96 on Wednesday night. The Blazers, 11-3 at home and 14-12 overall, have won nine straight games for the first time since they won 12 in a row during the 2001-02 season.

Brandon Roy had 24 points and eight assists to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to their eighth straight victory, 88-76 over the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night. David West had 21 points and Tyson Chandler had 16 points and 19 rebounds for the Hornets, who lost for the fourth straight time at the Rose Garden.




Roy helps Blazers win seventh straight (AP)
The Portland Trail Blazers are finding the road more enjoyable lately. Brandon Roy had 26 points and 11 assists and Channing Frye scored a season-high 20 points as Portland beat the Denver Nuggets 116-105 on Sunday night. It was the Blazers' seventh straight win overall, and third straight victory on the road, where they had lost their first nine games of the season.

Brandon Roy scored 26 points, including a go-ahead layup in overtime, and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 117-113 on Sunday. LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points for the Blazers, who won their third straight. But it wasn't easy. The Bucks went up 112-107 in the extra period after Andrew Bogut made a pair of free throws.




Dime: Roy outshines Wade
The Blazers got the better of Dwayne Wade and Miami. Dime says Brandon Roy played like a veteran in posting 25 points and six assists.

Blazers hand Heat fourth straight loss (AP)

After a talk with his coach, Brandon Roy believed he had straightened out his mental approach. After his second straight strong performance, he feels like he's straightened out his game, too. Roy scored 25 points, Travis Outlaw had 20 and the Portland Trail Blazers beat Miami 112-106 Thursday night, handing the Heat their fourth straight loss.

Hedo Turkoglu scored 21 points and Rashard Lewis had 20 and the Orlando Magic beat the Portland Trail Blazers 85-74 on Monday night to become the first NBA team to win 13 games this season. Dwight Howard, the Magic's leading scorer, was just 4-of-10 from the field and had nine points and 14 rebounds.

Josh Howard had 20 points for Dallas (4-2), which had won its last three.
