A person with knowledge of the deal says the Houston Rockets have traded the 23rd and 38th picks in the draft, a future first-round pick and center Brad Miller to Minnesota for 7-foot Lithuanian Donatas Motiejunas and point guard Jonny Flynn. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Thursday night because the deal has not yet been approved by the league.

John Salmons scored a career-high 32 points and the Sacramento Kings shook off more bad injury news Wednesday night to beat the New York Knicks 107-97, snapping a four-game losing streak. Linas Kleiza recovered the ball in a scramble and hit a jumper just before the final buzzer sounded, lifting the Denver Nuggets to a thrilling 106-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night. On the best scoring night of his eight-year NBA career, John Salmons' best move came when he gave the ball up. With New Jersey's defense collapsing on him in the closing seconds Tuesday night, Salmons drove the lane and kicked the ball out to teammate Francisco Garcia, who sank a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left that helped Sacramento beat the slumping Nets 106-101.

The short-handed Sacramento Kings finally got their elusive, long-awaited road win by going back to the basics: shooting, rebounding and passing. Brad Miller had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Mikki Moore tied his career-high with 24 points and the Kings became the final NBA team to win a road game with a 109-99 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.

Francisco Garcia's timely 3-pointer saved the Sacramento Kings from what would have been quite the double whammy in their home opener. Howard to be re-evaluated next week
Dallas Mavericks forward Josh Howard is out with a sprained left wrist and will be re-evaluated next week. An MRI exam Wednesday revealed the sprain after Howard injured his wrist Tuesday night in the Mavericks' final preseason game, a 96-88 victory against Chicago. Howard will miss the first two games of the regular season anyway because of his suspension for an altercation with Sacramento center Brad Miller in an earlier preseason game.

Mavs' Howard suspended 2 games for fight (AP)
Mavericks forward Josh Howard was suspended Friday for the first two games of the regular season, punishment for a fight with Sacramento center Brad Miller earlier in the week. Howard was ejected from an exhibition Tuesday against the Kings after delivering a forearm to the back of Miller's neck. He also pushed Miller, who had shoved Dallas guard Devin Harris to the ground.
