The Los Angeles Clippers have signed forward Bobby Simmons to a second 10-day contract. Simmons has averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in six games for the team while shooting 44 percent from 3-point range. He signed his first 10-day deal on Feb. 27. Simmons had been playing in the D-League, where he averaged 13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds for the Reno Bighorns.

Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points, Nene added 17 and the Denver Nuggets dealt the New Jersey Nets their 14th straight loss to start the season with a 101-87 win Tuesday night. Arron Afflalo had 15 points, helping the Nuggets win their 16th straight regular-season home game, including all six this season.

Luke Ridnour's 5-foot floater with 0.5 seconds left lifted the Bucks to a 104-102 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Friday night in the first meeting between the teams since a draft day trade sent Richard Jefferson to Milwaukee for Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons. Vince Carter had 25 points and a season-high 12 assists, and the New Jersey Nets beat the Memphis Grizzlies 100-89 on Wednesday night for their third straight home victory. Despite playing without leading scorer Devin Harris (sore right hamstring), the Nets enjoyed one of the easiest nights a team could have.

Vince Carter scored 18 points, and Yi Jianlian and Devin Harris each had 16 to help the New Jersey Nets rout the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-84 on Friday night. Jarvis Hayes added 14 points, Keyon Dooling had 12, and Bobby Simmons and Brook Lopez had 11 each to help New Jersey rebound from a 108-88 home loss to Washington on Tuesday night.




Yi, Carter lead Nets by Clippers 112-95 (AP)

Yi Jianlian had a season-high 27 points, and Vince Carter added 26 to help the New Jersey Nets beat the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers 112-95 on Saturday night. Devin Harris had 18 points and 10 assists, and Brook Lopez finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Bobby Simmons had 11 points as every Nets starter hit for double figures and New Jersey got its fourth win in the last five games.

Devin Harris scored 21 points to lead the New Jersey Nets to a 100-98 overtime victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday night in an exhibition game. Michael Beasley, the second overall draft pick in June, had 21 points for the Heat, but missed a chance to force a second overtime when the second of his two free throws rattled out in the closing seconds.




Nets introduce new players Yi, Simmons
The New Jersey Nets' acquisition of Yi Jianlian was strictly a basketball decision, not a marketing one aimed at drawing more Chinese fans, Nets owner Bruce Ratner said Wednesday. "The marketing side will come with success," Ratner said as he introduced Yi and forward Bobby Simmons, the players acquired from Milwaukee two weeks ago for Richard Jefferson. Ratner agreed that it's hard to ignore the fact that the 7-foot Yi, who averaged 8.6 points and 5.

Yi Jianlian didn't want to play in Milwaukee. The man he was traded for insists he does. The Bucks introduced Richard Jefferson on Monday after acquiring him from New Jersey on draft day in a trade for Bobby Simmons and the young Chinese star, who was the No. 6 pick last year. The second-leading scorer in Nets history was surprised by the trade.

The Milwaukee Bucks plan to send forwards Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons to the New Jersey Nets for forward Richard Jefferson, a person with direct knowledge of the deal said Thursday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because the deal wasn't completed. Milwaukee has been looking to rid itself of several bad contracts.

Michael Redd finished with 36 points and Bobby Simmons added a season-high 24 points in the Milwaukee Bucks' 119-115 overtime win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Andrew Bogut, who missed the last two games because of a broken nose, chipped in with 24 points and 13 rebounds for Milwaukee. The Bucks snapped a four-game losing streak and won for just the second time in the last 12 games.




Simmons adds to Bucks' injury woes (AP)
Milwaukee starting forward Bobby Simmons became the latest player to miss time for the Bucks, sitting out Wednesday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks with a bruised left leg. The Bucks were already without top scorer Michael Redd, who missed his sixth consecutive game with a strained left knee.

Paul Pierce scored a season-high 32 points and Kevin Garnett had an easy 15 with seven rebounds on Friday night as the Boston Celtics overcame Ray Allen's absence to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 104-82 and match the franchise record with a 12-0 start at home. Tayshaun Prince scored 20 points and the Detroit Pistons put away the Milwaukee Bucks early in a 117-91 victory on Saturday night. Chauncey Billups added 18 points and nine assists, Rasheed Wallace had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and reserve Jason Maxiell scored 13 points. Bobby Simmons and Charlie Villanueva led the Bucks with 13 points, but they all came with the game already decided.




Yi puts up 15 and 12 with 6 assists
Mo Williams had 20 points and 12 assists, and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 106-97 in a preseason game on Saturday night. Michael Redd added 18 points, Andrew Bogut and rookie forward Yi Jianlian each had 15 and Bobby Simmons 10 in what could be a preview of Milwaukee's starting lineup. Yi, the sixth overall selection in the 2007 NBA draft, had his best game so far. In 28 minutes, he was 6-of-9 from the floor and grabbed 12 rebounds in his third start for the Bucks (3-2).
