Doctors in Lithuania say basketball Hall-of-Famer Arvydas Sabonis is in intensive care after suffering a heart attack. Doctors in Sabonis' home town of Kaunas said Wednesday that the former NBA player's condition is stable and not life-threatening. The 46-year-old Sabonis was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after going into cardiac arrest while playing basketball.

Hall of Fame center Arvydas Sabonis suffered an apparent heart attack Tuesday while playing basketball, but is expected to recover, according to Lithuanian media reports.

Newly enshrined Hall of Famer Arvydas Sabonis was taken aback by the cheers he garnered at a downtown rally in his honor, telling fans he was appreciative that they remembered him. Sabonis visited Portland this week after he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame last Friday.
