Washington Wizards forward Andray Blatche is recovering from surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot. The Wizards said Blatche had the operation Friday night to repair a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot. He is expected to be sidelined for three months, which means he could return just in time for training camp.

Los Angeles had six players in double figures and snapped an eight-game road losing streak, and a three-game skid in Washington, as the Clippers won for the third time in eight games.

Rookie DeMar DeRozan scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, Marco Belinelli added 15 and the Toronto Raptors beat the Washington Wizards 100-93 on Sunday. The ninth pick in the June draft, DeRozan had two highlight-reel dunks in the final quarter, including a one-handed putback off Jarrett Jack's missed jumper with 1:58 left that put Toronto up 96-88.

Raja Bell scored 19 points, and Boris Diaw added 18 to lead the Charlotte Bobcats to a 92-89 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday night., After trailing most of the game, the Bobcats took the lead for good on Shannon Brown's 3-pointer with 2:42 left, and held off Washington's late charge. Even without Elton Brand, the Philadelphia 76ers were able to avoid becoming one of the unfortunate few to lose a game to the Washington Wizards. Lou Williams, coming off the bench to score a career high for the second straight game, had 26 points Friday night and the 76ers held on for a 109-103 victory over the hapless Wizards.




Wizards F Blatche faces traffic charges (AP)
Washington Wizards forward Andray Blatche was charged with reckless driving and driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop. Police stopped Blanche's car Wednesday morning on Interstate 85 in southern Virginia. He was driving 86 mph in a 70-mph zone, police said. The officer arrested Blatche because of the suspended license.

Redick scored a career-high 18 points and Marcin Gortat had a career-high 12 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Orlando Magic to a 103-83 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night in a meaningless regular-season finale for two playoff-bound teams. Andray Blatche led Washington with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Nick Young scored 14.

The Washington Wizards' backups were more than enough to eliminate the very sub-.500 Indiana Pacers from the playoff race, 117-110 Monday. Coach Eddie Jordan went to his bench early and often, getting 31 points from Roger Mason, 14 from rookie Nick Young and little resistance from the Pacers' defense.

Brendan Haywood never felt better, even though his knees were wrapped in ice and a towel draped from his head. The same goes for Caron Butler. He was so confident he issued a warning to anyone the Washington Wizards meet in the playoffs. "They're not talking about us, and that's a good thing," Butler said.

At 37 years old, Robert Horry can still lead a game-turning run. It may not happen often these days, but Horry got the San Antonio Spurs in gear after a lackluster 2 1/2 quarters Wednesday night. Andray Blatche did a fine job filling in for an injured Caron Butler, and he got plenty of help from Antawn Jamison and others. Blatche had 19 points and eight rebounds in only his second start of the season, and Jamison finished with 24 points and 20 rebounds Tuesday night, leading the Washington Wizards to a 108-104 overtime victory over the Toronto Raptors.




Wizards' Butler to miss at least one game
Washington Wizards forward Caron Butler missed Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Raptors with a strained left hip flexor. Butler also was expected to miss Washington's next game, at Toronto on Wednesday. He was hurt when he fell to the floor during an overtime loss against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said Andray Blatche would start in Butler's place Tuesday. Butler is enjoying a career-best season, averaging highs of 21.9 points, 4.3 assists and 2.
