Magic's Howard donates $100K for Haiti (AP)
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has started a fund for at-risk children around the world, beginning with a $100,000 donation for young earthquake victims in Haiti. The Magic's All-Star center and teammate Adonal Foyle formed the "The Dwight Howard Fund" announced Wednesday. Howard has tapped Foyle's Kerosene Lamp Foundation to manage the fund for him.

NBA union VP and Orlando Magic center Adonal Foyle calls owners' CBA offer 'ludicrous'
In the strongest comments yet by a players' union official since NBA owners made a new collective bargaining proposal, first vice president Adonal Foyle of the Magic said the offer put forth last week by commissioner David Stern's office was "ludicrous."

Magic reserve C Foyle has knee surgery (AP)
Orlando Magic reserve center Adonal Foyle has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. The Magic made the announcement Wednesday. The team said there's no timetable for Foyle's return, which will depend on how his knee responds to treatment. Foyle hasn't played in the preseason and has only participated in a few practices because of knee soreness.

Magic re-sign free agent Foyle
The Orlando Magic re-signed free agent center Adonal Foyle, one of four members of the Magic to play in each of the team's 82 regular-season games this past season. He averaged 1.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game this past season. Foyle was selected in the first round - eighth overall - of the 1997 NBA draft by the Warriors and remains Golden State's franchise leader in blocked shots.

Wizards shut down Howard, beat Magic (AP)

Antawn Jamison had 31 points and 11 rebounds and the Washington Wizards shut down Dwight Howard offensively in a 87-86 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Hedo Turkoglu had a career high with 39 points, but Howard had only three points and 14 rebounds. Orlando had a chance on an inbound pass with five seconds left, but Turkoglu's driving layup was short and officials didn't call a foul.

Rashard Lewis hit a 12-foot jumper as time expired, lifting the Orlando Magic to a 102-100 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night. Hedo Turkoglu had 26 points and eight assists and Dwight Howard added 23 points and eight rebounds for the Magic, who had lost nine straight to Detroit, including four games that knocked them out of last year's playoffs.

Rafer Alston scored 20 points, including the game-winning layup with 4 seconds left, and the Houston Rockets narrowly escaped Orlando with a 96-94 victory over the Magic on Friday night. Orlando appeared to tie the game at 96 with Adonal Foyle's tip-in at the buzzer, but officials said he didn't get the shot off in time.




McGrady hurt in Rockets' loss to Magic (AP)

Orlando's star of the past got hurt and the Magic's star of the present carried them to a victory. Dwight Howard had 21 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks and the Magic took advantage of former Orlando star Tracy McGrady's absence in the second half to beat the Houston Rockets 97-92 on Wednesday night.

Law shines in debut as Hawks win
Acie Law IV made a fast-break layup with 25 seconds left to lift the Atlanta Hawks to a 94-93 victory over the Orlando Magic on Monday night in both teams' preseason debut. Carlos Arroyo missed one of two free throws that would have tied the game with 15 seconds left. Marvin Williams, who had 19 points, made two free throws to seal the win. Dwight Howard had 30 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Orlando, while Adonal Foyle added 11 points and J.J. Redick scored 10.
